Reading the new Ocarina of Time trailer

The official reveal gives us a clear first look at a game rebuilt from the ground up. This record separates Nintendo's own claims from what can be observed in the footage.

Chapter 01

What Nintendo confirms

Nintendo presented the game during The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct on September 8, 2026. The official product page calls it a classic tale built from the ground up for Nintendo Switch 2.

The same page confirms completely overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, enhanced controls, jumping, dashing and modern camera movement.

Chapter 02

What the reveal shows

The trailer keeps familiar places readable while changing their material detail, lighting and scale. Stone has a rougher physical surface, vegetation has fuller volume, and the camera can frame action more freely than the Nintendo 64 original.

Those visual observations help describe the footage. They do not prove that dungeon layouts, story structure or progression have changed.

Chapter 03

The October 1 footage signal

Perfectly Nintendo published a 28-second video on October 1 showing Nintendo footage from Zora's Fountain, Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly and Gerudo's Fortress. This upload did not come from Nintendo's official YouTube channel, so the archive labels it as a third-party footage post.

The short clip adds three strong environment reads: cool water and rock, a living red-violet interior with green organic veins, and hard sun across red sandstone. These are observations from the clip, not a complete feature list.

Chapter 04

Questions still open

Nintendo has not described the full extent of dungeon changes, optional content, enemy behavior or quest restructuring on the cited product page. The archive will keep those questions unresolved until a primary source answers them.
