Keep a little mystery.
Start with the gentlest clue, or go straight to the route below.
01A gentle nudge
Your next useful tool is in Kakariko, but its owner no longer walks through the village.
02A clearer direction
Explore the Graveyard’s left side. Flowers mark a grave you can pull backward.
03The final clue
Dampé’s ghost is waiting underneath. Stay close enough to follow him through the doors; the first reward is for finishing, not breaking a record.
Ready when you areThe complete route
As adult Link, pull the flower-marked grave on the Graveyard’s left side. Follow Dampé to the finish to receive the Hookshot. Play the Song of Time at the blue block to exit.
Find the flower-marked grave
Enter Kakariko’s Graveyard as an adult. On the left side, pull back the leftmost gravestone with flowers in front. Enter the hole.
Stay with Dampé
Talk to his ghost to begin. Follow him through the corridors before the doors close. Avoid the flames he drops; they hurt and interrupt your movement.
Claim the Hookshot
Reach the final room, speak with Dampé and open his treasure chest. The Hookshot is awarded for completing this first race; you do not need a sub-minute time.
Open the way to the windmill
Continue to the blue Time Block. Play the Song of Time beside it to clear the passage, then climb the stairs into Kakariko’s windmill.
Where to go next
With the Hookshot, adult Link can reach the Forest Temple entrance from the Sacred Forest Meadow. The branch above the broken stairway is the target.
Separate goals
Dampé has a later timed challenge for a Piece of Heart. It is separate from obtaining the Hookshot, so you can continue your adventure after the first successful race.
